This pet-friendly riverfront cottage rental near Camden, Maine has incredible views of the Megunticook River and Mount Battie and has a maximum occupancy of four people. The first bedroom is the master bedroom with breathtaking views of the river and mountain. It features a comfortable queen-size bed and a large, antique French armoire. In the second bedroom, there are two twin beds with views of the beautiful Maine forest. Both bedrooms are unique because they are carpeted & furnished with vintage lamps, antique dressers, original framed photographs & prints. Each bedroom contains a plus sized sliding door clothes closet.
This rental contains one bathroom with a toilet, strong shower spray, large bathtub, lots of hot water, and plenty of fresh, clean, new, fluffy towels. There is a great kitchen containing a lot of cooking utensils, large oven, toaster oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, blender, and a new gas stove with a fan hood. The cottage will provide guests with comfort and relaxation. The whitewashed, antique barn board brightens the central living area, and there are high ceilings throughout to make the cottage bright and spacious. This accommodation has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchenette, and a quaint living area all exclusive for the guests enjoyment.
Just outside of the cottage glampers will find a delightful porch deck with a patio table and chairs. Guests can relax with breakfast in the morning, or glass of wine in the evening and adore the scenic landscapes, the Megunticook River, and Mount Battie. There is an outdoor gas grill just outside of the kitchen door for guests to cook delicious meals, and a floating dock with a swim ladder onto the river that is lit beautifully at night.
Guests are not required to bring their own bed linen, or towels as these are provided by the host. The cottage also comes equipped with high speed Wi-Fi.
A weekly maid service is provided, and the guests may request more of a frequent maid service for an extra fee. Grocery provisioning in advance or mid-week is available, and a babysitting service is also possible. It is a rural retreat nestled in scenic woodlands, but it is also not too far away from the towns in Maine. Camden is only five minutes, and Rockport is an 11 minute drive from the accommodation. Guests can find a variety of restaurants, bars, parks, and many outdoor activities in these towns if they don't feel like straying too far away from the cottage. Bar Harbor is approximately one hour and 45 minutes drive from the accommodation, where guests will find beautiful gardens, amazing hiking trails, and Acadia National Park. This peaceful section of the river is perfect for swimming, floating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing or sunbathing on its banks. It is a rare quiet spot to relax with tranquil settings. Around the corner, guests can find motor boats, water skiing, or jet skis which are accessible on the lake.
Guests can take a trip to Camden, Rockport, and Rockland, all of which are no further than 20 minutes by car. These towns offer a wealth of art galleries, antique shops, restaurants, first run and art house movie theaters. Close neighbor Rockport is home to the well-known Bay Chamber Concerts where glampers can enjoy world class live classical performances several times each week. In Rockport, there are Maine Photographic Workshops, Avena Botanicals & The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship offering classes, presentations & exhibits. If glampers fancy a quiet day in the cottage, there is a large television with cable and a DVD player. Several shops in Camden rent current and classic films, or guests can bring their own to enjoy. There are also stereo speakers with iPod connection and a wide variety of books. The sectional sofa is cozy and comfortable for afternoon napping and getting snuggled up on a night. During the summer guests wind down in the lounge chair on the floating dock and watch the birds and boats go by.
