This welcoming countryside rental is the ideal estate for a family-friendly getaway in Litchfield County, Connecticut. Accommodating up to 16 guests, the vacation rental comes equipped with six bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and one half bathroom. The master bedroom comes with a king-size bed, there are three bedrooms that each come with a queen-size bed, one bedroom with a sofa bed, one bedroom with two couches, and the final bedroom with two double beds. Among the bathrooms, guests will find a bathtub, showers, sinks, and toilets. Linens and towels are kindly provided.

The vacation rental comes with spacious sitting rooms and a formal living room with wall-to-wall carpeting, a fireplace, a baby grand piano, and a sofa bed. There is also a family room with two sofas, a raised fireplace, and a television with Amazon and Netflix capabilities, as well as a French country-style dining room with seating for the whole group. There are silver flatware sets and serving bowls and pieces in the hutch and cabinets for guests to use. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything guests will need to whip up meals all stay long.

Guests can close the drapes in the family room at night to allow for more privacy, and to help keep heat in. A key is provided to open up the right side of the garage, and in order to lock it, guests will have to move the door up and down a little bit. The other key they will be given is to the side porch, but if it is snowy or wet outside, guests should use the garage, as there is no walkway yet to the porch's door.

Please note that the water in the toilets refills slowly; it's not stuck or broken, so guests' minds can be at ease. In addition, there is an attic fan, which effectively cools off the entire house. This can be used in summer and is best used after sundown. Guests can access the fan from the northwest bedroom, from where they can open the closet door and flip the switch on inside the closet, which is on the left wall of the attic stairwell, to activate the fan.

Guests with cars will be able to access many local attractions. The capital city of Hartford is located to the northeast, and offers many cultural activities, as well as opportunities for shopping and dining. For those looking for something a bit more natural, the Mattatuck State Forest is found a short distance to the north

Close to Watertown, guests will find the neighboring towns of Woodbury, Middlebury, Litchfield, Plymouth, Bethlehem, and Thomaston, in addition to the Naugatuck State Forest, Mattatuck State Forest, Topsmead State Forest, Bantam Lake, and a number of other smaller parks and lakes.

At only an hour southwest of Connecticut's capital city of Hartford, glampers will be able to jaunt off to the big city for a day of sightseeing and cultural activities—or maybe even a night out on the town! Hartford is home to the Mark Twain House, Bushnell Park, Elizabeth Park, and a slew of other historical buildings, sites, and museums that will allow glampers to get a complete view on the city's beauty.

The hosts will drop the key off to the guests, but both the hosts and their relatives are in the area and available to help, should guests need it.

Guests will not be able to access the basement of the property, as that is reserved as locked storage space for the hosts.

The property does not permit smoking, parties, or events.

Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Late check-out may be approved up until 2 p.m. with host approval, as long as there are no guests scheduled to come early that day.

When guests check out, they need to strip the beds down to the mattress pad and leave the used sheets on the floor or front porch; leave used towels on the bathroom floor or front porch; wipe down the table with a damp sponge; clear the kitchen counters of dishes and wipe them down (the dishwasher can be loaded and turned on); and wipe down the bathroom sink.

Pets are permitted, but if guests are traveling with pets, they must consider the following rules. Pets must be booked as an additional guest. Pets must be kept off of the furniture unless the furniture is covered with a sheet from the linen closet. Guests must wipe up any muddy tracks and pick-up any pet droppings.

Guests should be aware that they must climb two flights of stairs while staying here: one is in the family room, and the other is past the kitchen.
