Routt National Forest

Routt National Forest is situated in northwestern Colorado and is often seen talked about as the Medicine Bow—Routt National Forest, since the two National Forests, along with Thunder Basin National Grassland, were combined in the late ‘90s. The three national natural beauties spread out over 2.2 million acres all together in both Wyoming and Colorado. Focusing on the Colorado portion of the National Forest, Routt makes up over 1.1 million acres of the aforementioned combined forest, exactly half of its total acreage. Glamping in Routt National Forest will bring you the Steamboat Ski Resort on Mount Werner to fulfill all of your winter sports needs. Boating and swimming in the summertime in the North Platte River, the Yampa River, and the various lakes and ponds will keep glampers cool in the warm, midday sun. The Flat Tops, which are the third largest U.S. wilderness area in all of Colorado, also make up a part of the National Forest. No matter what time of year glampers decide to go luxury camping in Routt National Forest, you’ll find plenty of outdoor activities, like hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, photography, and more to keep you having fun all vacation long.
