Caldas da Rainha

Once ruled by ancient Romans, the region in western central Portugal that Caldas da Rainha inhabits has been around since before the 13th century. It was formerly a part of Lusitania, too, what is now a large part of modern Portugal, as well as Extremadura and part of Salamanca in Spain. With Queen Leonor as the founder of Caldas da Rainha coupled with the nearby sulfurous hot springs, it is only appropriate that the name Caldas da Rainha can be translated as the "Queen's Spa." In fact, these hot springs are one of Caldas da Rainha's defining features. Art and culture also form a large part of the city's identity, demonstrated by its nine major museums. Perhaps the best part of all, however, is that while glamping in Caldas da Rainha, you'll be able to take in incredible ocean views and soak up the tranquility of the beach. Experience this beautiful area by going luxury camping in Caldas da Rainha, and it will be an experience to hold onto forever.
