Misiones

Based in the southernmost part of Paraguay, the district of Misiones is home to the city of San Ignacio, an important place to visit for those looking to indulge in Paraguay’s history and culture. There are countless of art galleries that house preserved pieces, like the Diocesan Museum of Jesuit Art, a museum has stood since the time of Spanish occupation. There is also the Museum of the Chaco Heroes. Home to artifacts from the War of Chaco and the Paraguayan War, the museum showcases pieces that well exemplify such parts of Paraguay’s history. Aside from history and culture, there is not much else to do when it comes to outdoors in Misiones; however, that doesn’t mean visiting the district isn’t worth your time. If you want to immerse yourself in Paraguay’s culture, you can’t go wrong with visiting Misiones’ San Ignacio.
