Caazapá

A district in the southern portions of Paraguay, Caazapá is a nice pit stop to visit before reaching the natural region of Reserva Nacional – Parque San Rafael. Probably the coolest destination in the district, San Rafael is home to a vast wilderness and 430 species of birds. It’s also home to the Atlantic Forest, one of Earth’s most endangered forests. There, you’ll find flora, many tree species, ferns, and rare orchids. A simple hike through the region introduces you to clandestine locations you can enjoy to yourself; quiet lakes surrounded by native woodlands, enigmatic forests, and vibrant cascades. You can also witness some ridiculous sunsets in the area, so make that among your priorities when visiting the natural reserve.
