Beautiful Glamping Retreat in Mauritius Between Waterfall and Lagoon
There are 12 safari tents available for rent. The tents are covered with a fly-sheet to protect from the rain and a knitted shade net for sun protection. This double protection ensures that the accommodations remain cool and dry no matter how hot and humid the weather gets. Each tent sleeps up to 2 adults and 3 children, and has a private bathroom and toilet. All of the tents are mounted onto wooden decks approx. 5 - 10 feet above the ground. The bathrooms are constructed out of recovered wood from antique creole houses. Bath sinks are carved from a single piece of wood and they sit on old wooden doors. Bed mattresses are put on transportation palettes and potato boxes are used for storage.
The retreat takes pride in keeping its carbon footprint as low as possible. The retreat produces its own energy through photovoltaic panels and solar water heaters. At the site waste is recycled and rainwater is harvested. For construction, only wood and recycled materials are used.
The pool-side restaurant offers incomparable views of the river and serves delicious Mauritian gourmet dishes. For breakfast, complimentary continental morning meals only source fresh local products, including freshly brewed espresso coffee, homemade yogurt and 100% natural fruit juices.

On-site you'll find tennis volley, beach tennis and volley ball court, and also a petanque area. Other activities include kite surfing and paddle boarding.
For kite-surfers, during the winter season from May to October the region enjoys strong winds (20 knots) coming from the south-east. Wilder, more turbulent spots, variety or miles of down winders can be found on the east coast. The most famous crossing is from Pointe D'Esny to ile aux Cerfs. There are places for all tastes and fitness levels, from amateurs to professionals. Special kite surfing sessions can be arranged at an exclusive spot located near a sand islet a few miles off the coast of Mauritius called 'ilot flamants'. The boat ride to ilot flamants takes about 30 minutes.
There are also stand-up paddle boards available for rent during the whole year. Paddle up the river to the waterfall or explore the unique mangroves islets surrounding the ile aux Cerfs on your paddle board!
The friendly staff will be more than happy to show you the area. Make sure you pay the east coast of Mauritius a visit as it is probably the most beautiful place on the island.
