Tungurahua

Tungurahua’s volcanoes in the Andes Mountains are a sight to behold. Not only are they scary, they’re fascinating, with a history involving ancient cultures that praised them. With a little bit of luck, those visiting the region can spectate massive plumes rising into Ecuador’s skies. There are plenty of national parks near the volcano, so if you’re also looking for outdoor activities, visit Sangay and Llanganates, where you’ll find more volcanoes great for climbing, and hot springs as well. Although Tungurahua has been kept under orange alert the last few years; don’t let it stop you from visiting the magnificent hotspot. A trip through the volcano’s region might offer adventures you never imagined partaking in, especially hiking along scary volcanoes.
