This pet-friendly jungle cabin is rustic and full of charm, nestled in the forest of the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. There is one bedroom with two queen beds and guests have a private bathroom as well. This enchanting glamping site is located just outside of Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve in Belize’s Cayo District of Belize. The Cayo District covers over two thousand miles of verdant terrain, where glampers will find vast cave systems, remnants of limestone plateau from the Jurassic, mysterious pine forests, trickling waterfalls, and glistening rivers. The District is inhabited by cougars, jaguars, ocelots, white-nosed coatis, crocodile, and Baird’s tapir, and bird species common crossbill, eastern bluebird, stygian owl, keel-billed toucan, and red-lored parrot. There is also a well-known river cave called Barton Creek, where archaeologists uncovered a large number of Mayan relics. Once used for ancient rituals, Barton Creek echoes spirituality and whispers the stories of the Mayan’s mystic traditions.
The fabulous Belize is an area where creativity has no bounds, stretching across the rolling hills and rivers, from the wooden houses, to the grand museums. The Belizean musicians, artisans and craftsmen have added to the rich and diverse creative flare this region beholds. The sounds of punta rock, brokdong, reggae, marimba, soca, mariachi, orchestra resonates through the towns. The extensive, rugged terrain is dotted with multiple hiking trails and a vast array of wildlife species. The location is a birdwatcher's paradise due to the multitude of bird species which inhabit the land. Glampers can explore Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, and swim in the cascading waterfalls and crystal clear swimming holes. Glampers can also check out the gigantic Rio Frio -a cave system that which had cultural and spiritual significance to the Mayans. The towns of Santa Elena and San Ignacio, are very popular with tourists because of its excellent nightlife, stores, restaurants, and cafes.
The Five Sisters Falls is a perfect swimming spot. The collective waterfalls have created a decent sized pool, and there is also a large bank for relaxing.
