This pet-friendly cottage rental makes for a fantastic glamping getaway to the beautiful nature of Nantahala National Forest, in North Carolina. The wood interior, rustic yet modern, adds to the charm of this historic home and there is also a large open deck with views of the river running right outside the door.

The main level features a living room with native stone fireplace, guest room with twin beds, a large master suite which offers a great view of the dam a cozy sitting area in from the gas log fireplace overlooking the rushing river and spinning water wheel and sliding door that open to a small open air patio.

Upstairs offers three bedrooms, one with rustic twin bunks, one with a queen-size bed and both with access to a covered porch overlooking the dam, river and a water wheel. The third bedroom is quaint and comes with a gas log fireplace. The lower level features a kitchen which has been recently updated, a dining room, and a den with French doors that open to the screened porch just a few feet away from the river's edge, flowing through Nantahala National Forest. Glampers can also fish at the Cullasaja River, the Chattooga River and numerous streams and river branches. While embarking on a day hike, guests can check out the local waterfalls including, Bridal Veil Falls, Cullasaja Falls, and Dry Falls. In the winter, guests can hike to the summit highpoint of Whiteside Mountain for a quality hike, glorious views of the woodlands and, when in-season, fields of mountain laurel, which outline the cliffs and rocky plateaus seen below.
