Chester, Vermont, is a small historical town located in the southern region of the state, just 30-minutes from New Hampshire and the Connecticut River. The property itself is located right outside of the northern end of Chester, right on Main Street past a small stretch of shops, so glampers have plenty of access to surrounding nature as well as local shopping. Southern Vermont is home to great natural landscapes such as forest, mountains, and farmlands. The property is located just a short car ride from outdoor destinations such as Green Mountain National Forest, Okemo State Forest, and Hawks Mountain Wildlife Managment Area. Lush and green during the summer and covered with a white blanket of snow in the winter, the town of Chester is an ideal location to access the various outdoor destinations that are scattered throughout the southern region of the state.
Vermont is known for its cold winters that yield a significant amount of snow, so it is a popular destination for outdoor winter enthusiasts. There are many ski resorts due to the scattered mountain peaks, so downhill skiers and snowboarders can almost visit a new resort every day throughout their stay. Flatter terrain throughout the area is also popular for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, exploring on snowmobiles, and even ice skating!
The spring, summer, and fall months attract just as many visitors as the winter months, due to the lush forested landscapes and rolling farmlands. Local national parks, forests, and mountain ranges are outstanding places for glampers who are interested in hiking, trekking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and wildlife watching. As the season turns from summer to fall, the local foliage attracts locals and visitors alike to snap photographs and take in all of the vibrant colors. Local lakes and rivers allow for swimming, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and many types of fishing.
If glampers wish to venture into town and grab a bite to eat, Chester and other surrounding towns have bars and restaurants. Chester is also home to historical stone houses, as well as antique shops and family-owned boutiques.
